If you don't like long card games, this variant isn't for you. This is for hardcore players, that really enjoy the game, and like, twists to their games. This variant is part of what others have posted in other threads, as well as some phases, that I came up with. This version is set up in three phase 10 phases. You can play this as the regular phase 10, in the first phase 10 group, listed, that you actually get, when you buy the phase 10 cards. The next group of ten, can be added to make a phase 20 game, or you can play it, as another variant of phase 10, as well. The last group of ten, can be added to the other 20 phases, to make the phase 30 game, or you can play it as another variant of phase 10.PHASE 101. 2 sets of 32. 1 set of 3 + 1 run of 43. 1 set of 4 + 1 run of 44. 1 run of 75. 1 run of 86. 1 run of 97. 2 sets of 48. 7 cards of one color9. 1 set of 5 + 1 set of 210. 1 set of 5 + 1 set of 3PHASE 2011. 1 run of 4 of one color12. 1 run of 6 of one color13. 1 run of 4 + 6 cards of one color14. 1 run of 6 + 4 cards of one color15. 8 cards of one color16. 9 cards of one color17. 3 sets of 318. 1 set of 4 + 1 run of 619. 1 set of 5 + 1 run of 520. 1 set of 5 + 5 cards of one color PHASE 3021. 5 sets of 222. 1 run of 1023. 10 cards of one color24. 1 run of 5 of odd numbers of one color + 1 run of 5 of even numbers of one color25. 1 set of 5 + 1 run of 5 odd numbers26. 1 set of 5 + 1 run of 5 even numbers27. 1 set of 4 + 1 run of 3 + 1 set of 3 of one color28. 1 run of 5 + 1 ron of 5 odd numbers of one color29. 1 run of 5 + 1 run of 5 even numbers of one color30. 2 sets of 5All normal rules apply, except, you can add six, optional rules to your game.OPTION 1: Before the top card of the draw pile is revealed, each player must pick a phase, and keep track of what phases they have chosen, during the game.Option 1, is what I call, the "Masters Edition of PHASE 10, 20 or 30."OPTION 2: Before the top card of the draw pile is revealed, each player must role a die, depending on how many phases they are playing in the game, depends upon which die you use.If it is phase 10, you use a 10 sided die.If it is phase 20, you use a 20 sided die.If it is phase 30, you use a 30 sided die. These die are attainable at comic shops or Ebay.Whatever number you roll, that is the phase, you must try for that round. If you don't obtain that phase that round, you must complete that phase, before you roll for the next phase, of your 10, 20 or 30 phase game.It is possible, to roll the same phase, multiple times.Whoever reaches the 10th, 20th or 30th phase, wins the game, depending on which game you pick.If multiple players reach the 10, 20 or 30 phases, you must determine the winner, by who has the fewest points.OPTION 2 is what I call, "EXTREME CRAZY PHASE 30."OPTION 3: Requirements: You need a UNO card set. Take all the reverse, draw two, and draw four cards out of the deck, and mix them with the phase 10 cards. After the cards are shuffled, and you turn over the first card, and it is a reverse, instead of the person on your left going first, the person on your right goes, instead, then the person next to them, on their right side, goes, and so on.This will change the game dramatically. It is cool to have these cards, but you don't won't to wind up with these in your hand, at the end of the round. If your caught with these cards, here is what they cost you in points.Draw Four = 25 pointsDraw Two = 20 pointsReverse is the same as a skip card, which = 15 points. When you have a draw two or four card or both kinds of cards, in your 10 card hand, you can draw not only the one card, that you draw in a normal phase 10 game, but you can also play the draw two or draw four cards. When you play one or the other, type of card, or both, draw your two or four cards, depending on which one you play, then discard the draw two or four card, then you can pick the order of the cards you discard. If you want to skip or play the reverse card, it must be the last card discarded, in order for you to do that.(For example: Say in this round you were dealt 10 cards, which included, a draw four card, and a draw two card. You first, draw your normal card as normal, like in regular phase 10 game, then before you discard, any card, in the discard pile, you can play a draw two or four card as well. You show all players the draw two or draw four card in your hand, and then you draw the appropriate amount of cards, depending on which draw card your playing, yourself. After you draw your normal card, from the draw deck, as well as the cards from your draw two, four or both cards, that you drew from playing one or both of these type cards, then you must discard, the total amount of cards you drew, from playing either a draw two, four or both type cards, as well as the draw two or four card, itself.(You should always wind up with 10 cards, after you discard all your cards at the end of each of your turns.)You can never have more than 10 cards, so when a draw two or four card is played, you have to draw and discard, the same amount of cards, during your turn, plus the draw two or four card. You have to decide, what to keep, but you always dicard the draw two or four card, if played, first. How to play a reverse card?If you play a reverse card, it works the opposite of a skip card.Play goes back to last player, who played their hand, and keeps going in that direction, until another reverse card is played, then goes back the other direction.Last rule, you cannot use a skip, reverse, draw two or draw four card to complete a color phase of any type.Option 3 is called, "INSANE CRAZY 30 PHASE."Option 4: Requirement: You need the latest edition, of the UNO card game. There is only one of this card, and it is worth 50 points, if left in your hand. When you play this card, you must show the person, you are using the card against. You must tell them, "I want to switch card hands with you."The player you played this against, must immediately, switch cards with you. Then you must discard this special card, then your turn is over with.If your rolling for phases, you have the power, to switch phases, as well, with that person. You cannot switch with someone, who has already laid their hand down, for that round.Option 4 or this card is called, "THE GAME CHANGER!"Option 5: Requirement: You need the latest edition, of the UNO card game.Get all the number, "0" cards out of your UNO set.1-4 players, can play with this option. Each player must choose a color, either green, red, yellow or blue, or you can roll for colors, or by randomly, drawing for it. Basically, whatever your group wants to do.If you receive a zero card in your hand, and want to play it, here are the following rules of play.A player must show the card to everyone, when he or she plays it.Whenever you play it, whatever color the zero card shows, you tell the person that owns that card, that you want to randomly take a card from their hand. You can't look at the card you choose, but you can point to which card you want to steal, from them. They must immediately, handover their card to that player, who played it, then that player places the stolen card in their hand. The player who loses their card, immediately, draws for another card, from either pile of cards, discarded or the draw pile. The player that played the zero card, now, has to discard the zero card, first, then another card, because they have stolen from another player. If you have your own colored zero card, you can choose, who you want to steal a card from. When ever someone wins a phase, during any round, all players caught with zero cards in their hand, it will cause those players to gain 10 points for that round. If your a player that has lost a round, and is caught with your own colored zero card, it will cost you 20 points. The Option 5 card, is called, the "Stealer."Option 6: Requirement: You need the latest edition, of the UNO card set.Collect all the skip cards from the UNO deck.1-4 players, can play this option. Each player can either, choose a color, roll for colors, or randomly draw for colors. It is however your group wants to decide. In this option, the skip card, is considered, an "extra turn card."The reason for this, is there are already skip cards, for the phase 10 game.If you receive this card in your hand or draw it, and want to play it, the following rules, apply.Lay the card face up, in front of everyone, and say, "I want to take an extra turn."If you play anyone's colored, "extra turn card," then you get one extra turn. You draw a card, then discard the, "extra turn card, first, then discard a card, because you drawed one.If you play your own colored, "extra turn card," then you get, three extra turns. After you show your " extra turn card", place it in the discard pile.Next, you draw a card, then discard a card, then repeat this two more times, for a total of 3 turns. You should always, wind up with ten cards at all times, during the game.Remember, after each turn, you neeed draw a card, then discard a card, for a total of three turns, after discarding, the "extra turn card."If you lose a round, and get caught with someone else's, "EXTRA TURN," card, in your hand, then you gain 20 points, to your total points. If you get caught, with your own colored, "Extra Turn," card, in hand, then you gain 40 points, to your total points. The option 6 card, is called, the "Repeater."I hope you enjoy this game. My wife and I, love this game, and it brings us, much closer, to each other, when we play together.Cheers!John.
