Lydia and Andy’s Wedding at Hellens Manor, Much Marcle.

My Day with Lydia and Andy.

I’d been really excited during the early stages of Lydia and Andy’s planning and quickly came to realise what a colourful and quirky day I’d be documenting at Hellens Manor! Lydia and Andy are great fun- hard working professionals but really laid back and great to be with.

Shortly after their pre wedding ‘getting to know you shoot’ in Devon I found myself in Hereford for the start of their day. After some lively and emotionally charged prep, I made my way to St Lawrence’s Church, a really pretty church in Wichenford, where I awaited Lydia’s procession of shiny Morgans!

After the ceremony and refreshments the wedding guests headed for the vintage bus to take them to Hellens. We made our way to Castle Morton Common for some portraits, which caused much amusement to unsuspecting cyclists.

Then on to Hellens Manor which is a beautiful venue and apparently one of England’s oldest dwellings, dating back to the 12th century. It’s also an excellent location for a garden party followed by dinner, excellent speeches and some impressive dancing.

We finished the evening off with some location portraits, taking advantage of Hellen’s cool tree swing, coccoon thingy before leaving of course :-)

A review from Lydia and Andy’s Hellens Manor wedding.

“Gilbert and Evans manage the impossible task of remaining seemingly invisible during the Big Day yet still being in exactly the right place at the right time to capture all the best moments.

We had a particular ‘vision’ in mind as to the style of Wedding photographs we were after and they captured this perfectly.

From our first meeting at the ‘Getting To Know You’ shoot right through to the end of the Wedding Day itself, every aspect of their work is both highly professional yet also calming and informal – a perfect combination at a time when nerves and stress levels are sky high!

As for the photos themselves, one word springs to mind – “Wow!”  Everyone that has seen them has commented on how fantastic they are, and each image brings back memories, sights, sounds and stories from the day.  You really couldn’t ask for more!!”
